This restaurant started out promisingly but has become thoroughly mediocre. The hush puppies are great though. The most vexing part of eating at this establishment is the wait and inconsistency of the food. Food on the buffet is often (generally even) cold or lukewarm. Also the bbq is very spicy and I don't mean that in a good way. When I mentioned this over a few trips the waitress showed solidarity with my plight but she said that they could not get me any bbq that wasn't pre spiced.

We stumbled across this place using Google's surrounding area feature. Excellent recommendation. The place looks like a hunting lodge. As you walk in you are greeted by the many animals that met their demise for stupidly walking around the forest without being armed themselves. They have a menu, which we haven't ordered off of yet. We have gotten the Buffett each time. $10 for all you can eat pulled pork, fried and barbecued chicken, hash, green beans like my grandma used to make, banana pudding, peach cobbler, and sweet potato crisp. There's other things like potato salad and cole slaw that take up valuable real estate. Everything tastes great. They have different types of sauces to put on your pork. The waitresses are very nice and do a good job of keeping the iced tea full. The floors and bathrooms are clean. Even though they call it a camp, you can't spend the night so eat up while you're there.

Today was the first and last time I will go to this restaurant. I went there on my way home from North Carolina and had to stand and wait for 5 minutes to be seated (no one else was waiting before me). There was only 4 other tables being used. The waitress took around 10 minutes to come and take my drink order. After 10 more minutes she asked was I ready to order. I ordered the BBQ sandwich with fries and coleslaw thinking that would be pretty fast. Well, 20 minutes later she brought it and sat it on the table and walked away. Not asking if I needed anything or asking did I need more tea. The fries were cold and the meat had no BBQ sauce on it. I had never been there so I didn't know you had to go to the buffet and get your own sauces and she didn't offer to tell me. I kept looking for my waitress to refill my tea glass but she was too busy talking with the other girls behind the counter to come and check on her tables. I was so excited to finally eat here but was totally let down. I will not go back.

We drive by this place all the time and thought we would give it a try. We should have kept driving. First the waitress told us she would bring us hush puppies, we received those 15 minutes later. We placed our orders and I got side salad with my meal. The waitress asked if I would like it out first. I said yes please. The salad came with my meal when our food was brought out. The salad was warm so was my dressing. The BBQ was spicy I mean the meat itself. I've never had spicy BBQ. So that kinda threw me a little bit. O and btw pork and beans are not baked beans. I asked for baked beans. My husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger medium well. The burger was burnt had no bacon on it. Had to ask for mayonnaise 3 times. We are leaving now and he still hasn't received it. Our waitress pretty much ignored us unless she was talking our order or bringing the food to the table. All in all I have to say this was a very bad experience for the both of us.

In a few words, not good. We love good bar-b-q, unfortunately we didn't find it here. The server was very nice and the atmosphere is like a cabin with stuffed animals on the wall, thus the huntin' cabin name. We both got the Buffett. The Pulled pork was cold and the beer was warm. The sweet potato was not tasty and the slaw tasted fermented. We tried it because of a Groupon, but would not go again. Sorry guys, just not good.

I ate here yesterday with a large party on a trail road trip. We called ahead to reserve tables and let them know we'd be coming, and we arrived at the time we anticipated. First, Huntin' Camp has a buffet option ($9 for lunch) or you can order from the menu. Many of us opted for buffet, but I (and lots of others), decided to order. The buffet has lots of meat on it, very few vegetable/side choices, and peach cobbler for dessert. We were greeted with baskets of hushpuppies, which weren't super hot when they were brought out, but they were good enough as an appetizer. I don't really eat meat, so I opted for a grilled cheese sandwich, add tomatoes, and sides of green beans and sweet potato casserole. All of us who ordered waited a very long time for our food, and by the time we got our food, everyone who ate buffet was paying and ready to leave. It was around 30 minutes. When my food came out, it was wrong- they brought me baked beans instead of green beans. I told them they could forget about the beans, but they did bring me the correct side. The green beans weren't seasoned, and the grilled cheese was also pretty sad (not that I was expecting gourmet, I just needed something quick to fuel up before hiking more trails. The sweet potatoes were good, but all the sides were off the buffet and nothing was really hot. No one in the group was really impressed with the food. I guess if you're really hungry and want a lot of food for cheap and quickly, this is probably a good place to get that. But nothing was overly impressive to anyone.

Very generous portions. Great food. I ordered the fish sandwich, girlfriend got the Buffalo chicken sandwich. I love small country restraunts. Reminds me of home cooking growing up. Will certainly come again and again. Only con would be the lower bread on our sandwiches got a little soggy. Not their fault tho. Moist meat tends to do that. Definitely okay with me!

My family and I had heard some really good things from here so we were pretty excited. We decided on the $9 Buffett since we were very hungry. It was HORRIBLE! The pulled pork was bland and dry. To get any flavor you needed to drown it in BBQ sauce which wasn't great either. All the sides were pathetic. Mac and cheese was cold and just tasted like rubbery pasta. Green beans were mush. The only good part about our experience was the hush puppies (which is what I ate most of).

Free hush puppies upon seating! Boom...awesome! I tried just the brisket sandwich on toast as I was in a hurry! Brisket came out and the sandwich was a very nice size and the meat was very tender. Nice flavor and I added the Mild BBQ sauce on the sandwich and it was a good choice. Overall, the sandwich tasted delicious. Staff was very friendly. If you are in the area Driving through and need a place to eat, I doubt you would be disappointed with this BBQ Joint

Buffet with barbecue was good but the hushpuppies were worth writing home about--crispy and sweet. All four major sauce types were available including Alabama white. The sweet tomato based sauce was very mild and the hash was thick but flavorful.

I've heard of this place from few people, and I finally got to try it yesterday. I felt like a fool for not eating here earlier. The restaurant is located middle of nowhere. If you are coming up from Greenville, keep coming up HWY25 and as soon as you pass a lot full of yellow school buses, the restaurant is the next street on your left hand side. Like the name of the restaurant, the atmosphere is really fun. My cousin's were little disturbed by the "art work", but it reminded me of old days of camping. The gravel parking lot, the wooden cabin, the chairs outside, etc., made me feel like I was back in summer camp a decade or so ago. The restaurant has fantastic people. ALL smiling faces. We met one of the owners, very nice, and their serving staff were really really attentive and friendly. What more could I ask for? Onto the food... Hush puppies to start with. My little cousin scarfed down the entire thing before we could get our 2nd hush puppies. :( Don't get me wrong, it was a basket full of hush puppies, but they were really good. We got a whole rack of ribs DRY RUB which is to die for. Like Effigy F. stated, there are 4+ bbq sauces, I got the honey mustard bbq (salivating) My cousin and I each got a pulled pork sandwich with fries and cole slaw. (their cole slaw was little bland I thought, but their fries were soooo delicious). My other cousin had grilled cheese sandwich (she wasn't too hungry after her ron de vu with her hush puppies. My mom and my aunt shared a plate of their chicken wings. There are various different flavors to get, but they got a dry, sweet and spice. It was really really good. They ordered baked beans, cole slaw, and sweet potato casserole. ALL of our FOOD was really good. None of us were able to finish our meals. We got it to go, and the togo box was FULL of half rack or ribs, 4 wings, some pulled pork, all the sides, etc. The total was roughly 50 bucks including tip! Who can say no to that?! I'd come back here for sure. I am quite shocked to find that this is their only 2nd review.

I finally found a good barbecue place! The food was very good but a bit salty for me --- but I have a lower salt preference than most people. The wings and ribs were delightful, especially with a beer. The staff (and owners too) are friendly and attentive. Obviously other people feel the same way. The place was packed!

Reheated BBQ Ribs!!! I am really disappointed with Huntin Camp BBQ and Grill! I recommended the ribs to my family and half of them got them. They were so dried out it wasn't funny. We were told they had reheated them because they had a slow week.....You never reheat BBQ ribs...thats a rule in good BBQ! They gave us red meal tokens for next time instead of taking the ribs off our bill like they said they were going to. My family told them 2 of the meals were my family from out of town and we were told that we could use the tokens then. I posted on there facebook page about how disappointed we were and instead of resolving our issue they deleted my post. Stay far far away from this place unless you want reheated BBQ!!!

Terrible. Everything was too sweet. Chicken was dry. Did take out. Threw it away when we got home. Don't waste your $.

A little on the pricey side but good food. The buffet is generous and well stocked. I like the brisket a lot, huge slices of beef!

I agree with Harry. Save your money. This is THE worst BBQ I've ever had. At least the dogs seemed to like it.

This is a must try! We came in hoping we would have a good casual restaurant near by, we it blew us away with how great it is. Right away we liked the hunt club feel. We found out it is owned and operated by two brothers and their mom. Everything is made from scratch... Some wonderful little hush puppies that were a great way to start off the meal. They had 4-5 different types of BBQ sauces, mustard based, hot, mild, vinegar etc. All very well done. I had a half rack of dry ribs that was smoked with apple wood. The best ribs I have ever had. I could not even finish half of the half rack that I Had with baked beans and Cloe slaw. Thomas had the burger and said it was an excellent burger, with quality fresh ground beef, and fresh fries that were so good I had to make him stop eating them. We look forward to going back this week and hope others have a chance to enjoy the place so we can have a great spot for along time to come... ps. great service, friendly staff, super clean restaurant (A rating), nice bathrooms...

My husband and son and I went here on Sunday. Food was really good. BBQ Pork and Ribs were great. Vegetables could have been better. We got the Sunday buffet and while this add a lot of options probably wouldn't get again.
